Meet the Geeks

Beer Geeks was born well over 30 years ago when two geeks fell in love in junior high!  It really came to fruition in the last year and half with Jason and Deidra taking “beercations” to the Austin area.  They knew they wanted to play a part in the booming craft beer industry but not sure whether to open a brewery or a homebrew store or something else.  They had the perfect spot in downtown Rockwall.

Jason – Beer Geek & VP

Craft beer enthusiast and homebrewer, Jason has had a passion for craft beer for the past several years.  He is an engineer by trade and that is one of the things that makes him a great homebrewer, his attention to detail.  He is an award winning homebrewer including a recent 1^st place entry at Bluebonnet Brew-off.  Jason has been a member of the Rockwall Brewers Association since 2012 and served as President in 2015, and 2017.

He enjoys seeking out new great craft beer whether locally or while on “beercation.”   His personal favorite styles include German lagers, wheat beers and an occasionally well done sour.  He is looking forward to helping you find your new favorite and becoming a beer geek too!

Deidra “Dee Dee” – Boss Geek & Pres

Entrepreneur and marketing guru by nature, Deidra has started multiple businesses over the past 13 years including an interior design firm and women’s fashion & jewelry design.  She studied marketing and advertising at UT Tyler. She spent several years in corporate America in finance and the apparel industry.  She enjoys taking “beercations” with Jason.  For every brewery tour that Jason goes on, Deidra (whose nickname is Dee Dee) gets to shop a small downtown.  It works out great!  Jason & Deidra will be celebrating their 20 year wedding anniversary in 2018.
